Abstract

A 62-year-old diabetic and alcoholic patient developed synergistic gangrene of the scrotum that spread rapidly across the perineum and lower abdomen. The source of the infection remains unclear. The urologist began debridement of all involved tissue, which resulted, after several operations, in entire loss of the scrotum, perineum, and lower abdominal wall. The abdominal loss was complete from the umbilicus to the pubis.
