Abstract

An adult paraplegic man presented with a chronic wound of the perineum and left groin. The wound had been previously debrided and was associated with osteomyelitis of the pelvis. The wound measured 7 × 9 cm. The superior aspect of the wound was immediately overlying and included the pelvic bone. The patient had a history of recurrent pressure sores and had multiple scars over the anterior lateral aspect of the left thigh and hip. In addition, he had old scars on his left gluteal area. The scars appeared to be associated with old rotation flaps. The problem is one of a large pressure sore of the left groin and perineum that has bony involvement.
