Abstract

A 15-year-old boy was involved in a motor vehicle accident which threw him from the car. The car partially rolled onto the victim, bringing the hot muffler to rest against the waist and thighs of the young man. As a result, the patient suffered full-thickness burns to the genital region, abdomen, and anterior thighs. There were no significant visceral or bony injuries.
