Abstract
Formation of intraperitoneal adhesions may be often, but not always, traced back to peritoneal inflammation, such as that caused by abdominal or pelvic surgery, pelvic inflammatory disease, or endometriosis. Because the role of endometriosis is discussed at length elsewhere in this book, this chapter, under a broad heading of “pelvic adhesive disease”, will be focused on adhesions not related to endometriosis.
