Echocardiographic Evaluation of Thrombolytic Intervention After Acute Myocardial Infarction

Abstract

During the first hours of acute myocardial infarction major changes in left ventricular architecture occur, leading to the progressive increase of ventricular volume and the decrease of left ventricular pumping function. Prognosis of patients with acute myocardial infarction is related to the magnitude of these changes.
