Abstract
The previous chapters provide an account of electrical forces that can exert measurable influences on biological systems. Although the bioelectric mechanisms treated in this book can be used in a controlled fashion to exert a beneficial effect, the same forces, when presented in an uncontrolled fashion, can sometimes be detrimental. For that reason, various agencies have developed protective standards and guidelines.
