Section 6.4 and Section 6.5 have been obtained by V. Drâgan and are published here for the first time. Other aspects concerning stabilization of systems with two-time scales by using piecewise constant controls are considered in [6] and [7]. The discrete algorithm for adaptive stabilization in Section 6.6 is described in [17].
For general aspects concerning sampled-data control systems, an important source is [5] and its references.
An alternative approach discrete time implementation of stabilizing controllers, based on the function space method, was proposed by Y. Yamamoto (see [65] and references therein).
