Abstract

This chapter is devoted to programs that let you convert a list of coordinates to an image; chart condensed data; and draw, paint, colorize, solarize and otherwise modify scientific constructions and artistic creations in a digital environment. The first Section decribes the Latex picture environment and ancillary graphics programs that work directly in the picture environment. Xy-pic works directly in Latex and MetaPost graphics can be added. The other sections describe WYSIWYG graphical design and image processing programs, whose products can be incorporated into Latex as Encapsulated PostScript files.
