Consider a structure’ provided with a number of actuators and modeled as a discrete system (Figure 6.1). Its equation of motion in the space of the configuration can be expressed in the form
where the control forces exerted by the actuators and the disturbances or external forces can be expressed, respectively, as f c = T c u c and f e = T e u e where u c and u e are the control and external inputs. Matrix T c is sometimes referred to as the control influence matrix.
