Abstract
The chapters in this volume have richly surveyed the recent past and the present state of GH-related research, especially as it impacts on treatment. This final chapter is intended to link up the past and present with the future and includes both predictions and warnings. (Recognizing the extreme difficulty in visualizing the future, I invoke gently and with humility the spirit of the great prophets of the past, such as those embodied in the oracles of ancient Greece and the prophets of the biblical Holy Land (1-3). That each of these prophetic traditions prospered for a millennium or more commands our respect.)
