Abstract

F. Yates (1901–1994) and W.G. Cochran (1910–1980) were two of the most influential and conceptually original statisticians of the middle portion of the twentieth century. Although Cochran worked for some years in Yate’s department at Rothamsted Experimental Station this is their only joint publication.
