Abstract
In this section on magnetostatics, we will treat the phenomena caused by steadily flowing charges. The restriction onstationaryprocesses implies that thepartial derivativeswith respect to time vanish in magnetostatics, hence, entirely ∂/∂t=0. That statement means that there are no time variations; thus, e.g., ∂ρ/∂t= 0 or ∂j/∂t =0, etc. Here p and j are the charge density and the current density, respectively.
