Abstract
In this chapter we address two topics that are of interest to managers of software development teams. The first pertains to producing software within reasonable cost and time constraints. The second pertains to ensuring that the software produced is of acceptable quality. Statistical techniques have a role to play here, and the aim of this chapter is to highlight this role.
