Part of the book series: Health Informatics ((HI))

Abstract

The deployment of clinical data repositories (CDRs), data warehouses, and various other information-oriented software packages has become (and will remain for some time) one of the hottest areas in healthcare information technology (IT). Whether the approach to these efforts is in-house development or vendor purchase, any successful project that involves storage and dissemination of information through a database will involve data modeling.
