Abstract
As the need for timely and accurate information becomes more important, healthcare organizations (HCOs) must learn how to get the best results from existing or new information technology (IT). While every organization has its own approach or culture regarding IT, many ignore some very simple tactics for optimizing their own IT. Often, the steps needed to improve IT performance are easily attained but not easily recognized. Overlooking these crucial steps can send an organization down many frustrating paths, ultimately increasing the cost of IT.
