Abstract
Despite an understanding of infrastructure, business, and information technology (IT) issues in an integrated delivery system, or even the best management strategies for an information systems (IS) environment, many healthcare organizations’ IT efforts fail because they did not adequately quantify the value received from the IT investments. Everyone, business management, IT management, and end users alike, must understand the value of an IT solution and how it relates to the value of the business process being affected. This section will provide guidance on understanding and maximizing IT value.
