Abstract
The growth of managed care in the delivery of health care has placed into motion a dramatic shift in the role of healthcare organizations (HCOs). Health systems that understand this unprecedented change in how health care is deliveredandare able to adapt to this new environment will obtain the ultimate market advantage. The rewards will belong to those HCOs that can most quickly and successfully adopt the new role of “network manager.”
