Abstract

I couldn’t help but smile as Fanny talked about scooping the money up from the just-terminated poker game and stuffing it in the pillowcase. My mind drifted back to a similar poker game Uncle Will told me about the previous spring, where he did almost exactly the same, except this game had a much more tragic ending. The gods must have decreed these two people meet somewhere during their lifetime.
