Abstract

On the way home, my mind was scattering like a fart in a whirlwind. Somehow I had to get Ma to let me use the car to go over to Alabama and retrieve Uncle Will’s $10,000. Ten thousand dollars was a sum of money I could not comprehend. The great uncle I half despised and half loved, but everybody else straight out hated, had chosen me to be his father confessor, a role I did not relish.
