Abstract

“Nephew, I suppose you must wonder how I know so much about the thoughts and actions of Mr. G. B. Balls. Just take it as an article of faith that I do know these things, for a fact, about the man. Maybe I need to tell you how, in mitigation of my behavior in this whole sorry episode. Maybe the Almighty himself will take into consideration some of the circumstances. I was arrogant in those days. Showed a total indifference to the pain and suffering I caused my family, or the Nelsons, or the Balls of the world—until now it has come my turn.
