PCR Instrumentation: Where Do We Stand?

Like any major undertaking, this comprehensive book on PCR has gone through a rather long genesis. Needless to say, the situation on the PCR instrumentation front has evolved quite a bit since the time the concept of making this book crystallized. This chapter required several rewrites in an attempt to make it current at the time of publication, and to anticipate future directions for the field.
