Boundary-Value Problems for Second-Order ODEs

All the previous chapters faced with solutions of a system of differential equations corresponding to initial data, that is, with initial-value problems. In this chapter, a different problem is considered, related to the following normal second-order differential equation:
Instead of searching for the solution of Equation (9.1) corresponding to the initial data
$$ y'' = F(x,y,y'). $$
we are interested in the solution of Equation (9.1) satisfying the following boundary values:
$$ y(x_0 ) = y_0 ,y'(x_0 ) = y'_0 , $$
$$ y(a) = y_a ,y(b) = y_b . $$
