Abstract

Tibial fractures are among the most common injury encountered in paediatric trauma. These include a spectrum from low energy toddler’s (diaphyseal) fractures to high-energy open tibial fractures. In addition to this, there are rarer tibial injuries with potential significant complications. This chapter utilises an anatomic approach (proximal, diaphyseal, and distal) to classify paediatric tibial fractures and discusses their diagnosis, classification, management, and complications.
