Abstract
The diagnosis of mitral stenosis has many important clinical implications, making it important to differentiate from other cardiac pathology. However, there are several key auscultation hallmarks which assist the physician in detecting and diagnosing the valve abnormality. Because severe clinical manifestations such as pulmonary hypertension and atrial fibrillation may result from progression of this mitral valve disease, it is our goal to detail quick diagnostic features for the bedside physician to utilize.
