Abstract
Para-ophthalmic aneurysms are relatively common and can present management difficulties due to the potential for occlusion of the ophthalmic artery. In some patients occlusion of the ophthalmic artery can be tolerated with preservation of blood flow to the eye via anastomoses between the external and internal carotid systems. Here, we present a case where occlusion of the ophthalmic artery was tolerated, however a distal embolus occurred several days post-procedure. The various methods for management of embolic events involving the central retinal artery that can restore vision are described
