Abstract
Fractures of the lunate are very rare representing only 1.3 % of all the carpal bones fractures. In 1987 Teisen published a review of 17 patients with fresh fractures of the lunate. The fractures were classified according to their radiological appearances on the lateral and anteroposterior views and according to the vascular anatomy of the Lunate [1] (Fig. 25.1).
