Abstract
This chapter gives an overview of the nature of technology and investigates many of the other technologies which are combined for photogrammetry to emerge in its current state. From general technology theory to a brief history of photogrammetry, it investigates some of the technologies which incorporate photogrammetry technologies and are also connected to the fields of design and entertainment: Microsoft Kinect, photosynth, Weta Digital: Photospace, Autodesk 123D Catch. This chapter concludes by investigating some of the current challenges and limitations.
