Abstract
In this chapter, quality of service (QoS) design for the Voice over IP (VoIP) application is discussed. In networks supporting multimedia applications (network service provider and most enterprise networks), VoIP traffic is given the highest priority. This chapter supplements Sect. 7.4 of this book, where it is noted that in the Smart Grid networks, many Smart Grid applications must be given priorities higher than the priority for the VoIP traffic.
