Abstract

Before our discussions on the technical aspects of solar photovoltaics, we will first review the status of solar photovoltaics. This chapter begins with a review on current solar cell technologies and their efficiencies. It is followed by a discussion on solar cell cost, a well-known barrier to large-scale deployment of solar photovoltaics.
