Abstract

The advancement of surgical techniques in reconstruction has paralleled our understanding and use of biologically inert materials. Today, there is a considerable array of materials available we can use; some are natural and some are synthetic. Many materials are readily available for use, whilst others can be patient-specific and custom-made. In this chapter, we explore the variety of materials that can be used and how they can be applied in secondary surgical procedures.
