Abstract
Although the pathophysiology of pilonidal sinus disease is not completely defined, the natural history, fundamental etiology, and principles of management are presented in this chapter to aid an understanding of the complications, risks, and consequences of the surgical procedures. For information concerning associated surgical procedures, refer to the relevant chapter and volume.
