Abstract
In the light of the findings, the concluding chapter highlights the role of designers and how they may take advantage of the super-constructs identified in the studies, as well as paying attention to the idiosyncratic nature of experience. In particular, the importance of anticipation, and early visual ‘interactions,’ are emphasised. Subsequently, the design and methodological limitations of the studies (including the case-studies) are discussed along with suggestions for further research. Practical implications for research and design are also explored before returning finally to the main research questions concerning the nature and dynamics of user experience. A concise statement summarises the conclusions that may be drawn from the data and discussions within the book. Particularly noteworthy is the contrast which may be drawn between the reductive and holistic view of UX. The major contributions of this book to the theory and practice within the fields of HCI and user experience are also highlighted.
