Abstract

The most prominent symptom in many patients with Hughes syndrome is memory loss. This can range from, for example, subtle word-finding difficulties to severe amnesia, raising concerns about Alzheimer’s.

Other problems sometimes seen in Hughes syndrome are temporal lobe epilepsy, sleep disturbances and (occasionally) behaviour disorders such as obsessive compulsive disorder.
