Abstract
The input data to the decision support systems are acquired from multiple sources and transferred to a common data structure. The data are selected on the basis of known relationship between the geothermal potential and the energy demand, which shall, later in the book, be calculated from these data. The choice of data sources is based on criteria of quality and accessibility; the emphasis is on remote sensing systems since they have a wide geographic coverage and are frequently updated.
