Abstract
Monitoring the fetal electrocardiogram (FECG) can provide important clinical information to obstetricians for the assessment of the fetal well-being. For the regular check-up of the fetal ECG, pregnant women have to come to hospital 2–3 times a week. It’s difficult for the working women and the women with high-risk pregnancies. The great progress in sensor technology, wireless broadband communications and Cloud computing offers the possibility of real-time collection and dissemination of personal healthy data to patients and expert physicians anytime and from anywhere. This study presents a Cloud computing-based medical care network system for at-home FECG monitoring to enables the mother to complete the check-up themselves. This will help facilitate the regular checkups during pregnancy without compromise in the wellbeing of both the mother and the foetus.
