Abstract

In this chapter, we review benchtop imaging spectroscopy acquisition methods and address the process of dark current calibration. We commence by turning our attention to the structure and spectral responses of spectral cameras and sensors. We do this by elaborating on staring arrays, pushbroom and multiple-CCD cameras. We also motivate the use of the dark current image for the purposes of calibration against noise.
