Abstract

Priapism is defined as a persistent erection that is unrelated to sexual stimulation or continues for more than 4 h beyond sexual stimulation and orgasm. Priapism can then be subdivided into the three different categories: (1) low flow (ischemic), (2) stuttering, and (3) high flow (nonischemic).
