Abstract

MacLeod and ten jejune contemporaries gathered around the bed of a real patient. It was a person and it was breathing! It was not a pharmacology textbook; it was an actual patient, a woman of maturity and fascination. She held her sheets low over her bosom but not so low as to be indecorous or so high as to disguise the beauty beneath the sheets. Her eyes twinkled and her lashes were long. She looked at the medical students with interest and that interest was mostly for the boys.
