Abstract
Management of patients with a PF joint that presents with pain and dysfunction associated with chondral pathology remains a difficult clinical problem. Attention to the entire PF system including issues pertaining to alignment is paramount in achieving a successful outcome. Similar to the tibiofemoral joint, all comorbidities must be addressed. Multiple options exist to manage the chondral pathology and are chosen based upon defect size and location. Outcomes support good and excellent results similar to that seen in with the management of the tibiofemoral joint.
