Abstract
Memorial Health created a telehealth system which allows their high-risk obstetrics (OB) clinic to monitor patients with high-risk conditions at home in between office visits. Enrolled patients received an Intel HealthGuide home monitoring device, which was designed to be easy to set up and use. Training was performed by the head nurse at the physician’s office and encompassed how to use the device, associated monitoring peripherals and the embedded web camera. The peripheral devices included a glucometer, a blood pressure monitor and a scale. Once a patient was enrolled, data from the peripheral devices was transferred to a care management web portal, which was viewable by the physician’s office staff.
