MitraClip Procedure in Unusual Heart Position
We describe two cases in which altered thoracic and cardiac anatomy complicated the MitraClip procedure. In the first case, the patient had a prior pneumonectomy which caused rotational displacement of the heart in the mediastinum. The case illustrates the adjustments required for appropriate transseptal puncture. In the second case, transesophageal imaging was adversely affected by a malignancy.
