Pelvic Cancer Surgery

Abstract

Radical prostatectomy is performed by the robot assisted route in a majority of patients today. The surgeon has a choice of two approaches when gaining access to perform the procedure, either extraperitoneally or intraperitoneally. There are advantages and disadvantages to both the approaches. Being adept in both arms the surgeon with techniques which can be applied selectively depending upon patient factors.
