Heart Failure

Abstract

The imaging techniques have an important role in the heart failure evaluation, not only because the diagnosis but also because they can guide treatment and provide valuable prognostic information. From the simple chest radiography until the new Multi-Detector cardiac computed tomography and cardiac magnetic resonance, nowadays, we have several techniques to choose. As long as each one of them has its strengths and weaknesses, the decision of which is the information desired from the exam should be one of the first steps to make the choice. The main modalities available will be reviewed here in terms of what they can provide and how it can help in the heart failure context.
