Abstract

A 74 year-old gentleman presented with a progressive history of increasing exertional dyspnoea, associated with peripheral oedema. He had no previous history of rheumatic fever or infective endocarditis. Clinical examination revealed a pan-systolic murmur audible over the apex and at the left sternal edge. Coronary angiography demonstrated no obstructive coronary artery disease.
