Abstract

In recent years much attention has been paid to the role of pulmonary haemodynamics and right ventricular function in the course of hypoxic chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).1 Pulmonary hypertension and cor pulmonale have been recognized as important prognostic factors.2
