Abstract

Hepatic angiomas are the most common benign hepatic tumours. They present in infancy usually with hepatomegaly. The female to male ratio is about 2 to 1. The possible complications are cardiac failure, thrombopenia (Kasabach—Merritt syndrome) and very rarely intraperitoneal haemorrhage. They have a natural tendency to regression, often after a period of rapid growth.
