Abstract
The complexity of Web portals requires the implementation of integrated maintenance management. Ecoradar represents a portal in the domain of sustainability and environmental management. After presenting the system architecture and general components of this portal, we have a closer look at the domain-specific application framework: EcOObjects, as a software class framework for developing environmental management software, EcoAvatar, as an instrument for a multimedia environmental communication and EcoWizards, as a computer-aided and interactive completion of checklists in environmental management. A description of the portal maintenance tasks follows. This chapter provides conceptual background information for persons responsible for Web portal management, especially for portals in the domain of environmental management. It can also be used as a blueprint for portal planning and implementation.
