Abstract
Drawing with a mouse or tablet cursor is analogous to drawing freehand with a pencil. In engineering drawing we rely on a host of drawing aids and equipment. T-squares, rulers, setsquares and compass are but a few of the tools necessary to control the positions and sizes of drawn objects. Similarly we need electronic protractors and digital dividers when using AutoCAD. This chapter covers some of the useful cursor control facilities within AutoCAD. Using these facilities will make your drawings into exact graphical representations. You will learn how to set up construction lines. These will then be used to reference drawing items to the key construction points for making a replica of Paris’s Eiffel Tower. The tower will be completed in Chapter 5.
