Abstract
Must I really write programs? The answer is “No, but...”. You can get by with AutoCAD as it is. The program is already so versatile that you might think that it is almost perfect. A large number of AutoLISP programs have already been written. The section on “The AutoLISP program library”, in the next chapter, introduces some useful titles ready for use. To use these you only need to know how to load an AutoLISP program. A host of AutoCAD third party software suppliers produce customising programs for all disciplines. You can probably find something suitable there. See Chapter 12 for more details on available software.
