Abstract

In the previous chapters, we presented various adaptive actuator failure compensation schemes for continuous-time linear time-invariant systems with uncertain actuator failures. In this chapter, we will develop adaptive actuator failure compensation schemes for discrete-time systems, which are useful for real-life implementation of actuator failure control compensation using digital computers. In addition, we will address the robustness issue for adaptive actuator failure compensation in the presence of system modeling errors, whose results are also important and analogous for the continuous-time designs.
